Hello I'm Derrick, I am a Graphic Design student at Arizona State University Online! I live in Texas, and I also work at Starbucks!
I started designing when I was around 13 just for fun! I used to make YouTube banners for YouTube channels that I would never post too. From there a seed was planted in my brain. It would be just as fun design the things that everyone see in day to day life. For the next seven years I was in a cycle of making so many graphics that I would get burnt out. Then I found out about UI/UX design. It reignited the spark in me, and I started focusing on new techniques. I would put myself in uncomfortable situations to help myself grow and learn! Now in College, I am able to learn more than ever! I am intent on going into the UI/UX design field when I am done with college!
When I am not working, doing school, working out, or hanging out with my family, I find time to design. It is something that I am glad I will be able to call my job one day. I cannot wait to grow and learn as a designer!
